Located seven kilometers southwest of Fort St. John, BC Hydro’s Site C dam will be the 3rd dam and generating station on the Peace River in northeast British Columbia. Site C will provide 1,100 megawatts of capacity and about 6,100 gigawatt hours of energy each year, to the province’s integrated electricity system. Allteck has been awarded the construction of two new 500 kV transmission lines that will connect the new Site C substation to the existing Peace Canyon Substation, along an existing right-of-way. In addition, Allteck will be modifying the existing 138 kV transmission system to supply Fort St. John substation and Taylor substation from the new Site C substation.
