A Substation Electrician will operate, maintain, install, adjust, inspect, modify, test, troubleshoot and repair main and auxiliary equipment and apparatus. This may include overseeing sub-contractors doing electrical wiring, switchboard wiring, transformer connections, switchgear, bus work, low voltage control cables, electrical and electronic equipment. The Substation Electrician will be required to perform distribution substation switching and grounding.
The person will be required to work on a standby rotational schedule and must carry a cellphone that remains on for the entire time the person is on standby. Standby schedule will be determined by how many resources are in the rotation. Typical on-call shift is for 7 days per week / 24 hours per day. Full-Time (FT) approximately 40 hours per week.
