Procurement Administrator

Job Summary

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for addressing procurement needs, setting up master service agreements and administering contracts within the two organizations. The selected candidate will be responsible for various procurement activities which includes identifying needs and potential suppliers, developing thorough requests for proposals, soliciting bids, reviewing bids and selecting suppliers, administering and awarding contracts, maintaining vendor relationships, and updating vendor pricing in our ERP system. Potential to grow into a senior procurement role over time with increasing level of responsibility and organizational impact.

Location: Burnaby

Responsibilities

  • Perform procurement analysis, identify existing agreements and rates for the needs of the organization
  • Set up Master Service Agreements (MSA’s) with repeatable service providers
  • Liaise/ consult with internal departments (Projects/Operations, Proposals, Finance, Contracts/Risk, Indigenous Advancement) to assist with their contracts needs
  • Perform sourcing, liaising and administration with new and existing suppliers based on priority and to get the best possible pricing and payment options
  • Identify comprehensive supplier sourcing with respect to safety stats/records, quality programs, experience, reputation, creditworthiness, etc.
  • Evaluate, compare, and make supplier recommendations
  • Maintain a database of service contracts/ sub-contract agreements and information on each
  • Manage the process for updating vendor pricing on an ongoing and annual basis

Skills & Abilities

  • Proven experience and knowledge of procurement-related activities
  • Ability to deal tactfully with a broad spectrum of vendors, suppliers, and contractors
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills for high volume internal and external communications
  • Highly developed organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
  • Experience in purchasing major equipment or master service agreements, negotiation contracts, exposure with operating budgets and construction projects would be considered an asset
  • Proficient computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, OneDrive, Outlook)
  • Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) or a similar ERP Program would be beneficial

Education, Training & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Finance or a related major field of study
  • Two to six (2-6) years’ experience in procurement, energy-related industry is preferred
  • Experience supporting sites in multiple geographical locations would be considered an asset
