Field Engineer

Job Summary

The Field Engineer is responsible for assisting construction management with all activities that take place on the project work site, ensuring high standards of workmanship, efficiency, and safety. Prepare work packages and other construction related information in a timely manner as required to support the work schedule.

Job Type: Full Time


  • Assisting the Project Manager with the initial mobilization and set up of the construction
  • Field Operations: Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft, prepare work plans and work packages, order, and schedule material deliveries.
  • Office Engineering: Perform takeoffs from drawings, generating change orders reviewed by Project Manager, provide field support, and supervise subcontractor operations.
  • Estimating: Review and analyze data relative to the project, complete plans and specification reviews for projects, assist with the preparation of a bid.
  • Assist with long range planning including identifying and ordering; Labour, Equipment, and Material Requirements.
  • Assist in the resolution of design issues, change requests, material defects and equipment
  • Monitor job progress and costs and provide regular progress reporting to
  • Quality Control tracking to ensure compliance with the Specifications (testing frequencies, material approvals, notice of inspections, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with the Allteck health and safety training and reporting
  • Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety

Education, Training & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field of engineering, examples are civil engineering, mining, mechanical, geotechnical, construction management or,
  • Journeyman or equivalent qualifications and (5) Five years of construction related experience
  • Candidate must possess a valid Driver’s
